Privacy policy

This policy explains what data we process when you use the Binnacle app, what for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights.
This English translation is provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

2. What Binnacle is
Binnacle is a mobile app for tradespeople (locksmiths, plumbers, carpenters, painters, electricians and similar trades) that lets you create and manage work orders by voice, keep track of payments, expenses, technicians and providers, and export your information.
3. What data we process and why

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it and we do not track you across apps or websites. We do not collect location, contacts or photos.
4. Third-party data you enter
When you use Binnacle you may record data about your own customers (name or company, phone number, address). For that data you are the data controller and we act as data processor under article 28 of the GDPR, solely to provide you with the service and following your instructions. The terms of that processing are set out in the Terms of use. You must make sure you have a legal basis for processing your customers’ data and inform them where required.

We do not disclose data to other third parties unless legally required (for example, to tax or judicial authorities).
6. International transfers
Some providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified and, failing that, on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can request a copy of the safeguards at info@binnacleapp.com.
7. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to info@binnacleapp.com from your account email address, or from within the app:
- Rectification: Settings → Profile.
- Portability: History → Export (CSV or Excel).
- Erasure: Settings → Account → Delete account (immediately deletes your account and all your data), or through the Delete account page.
If you believe we have not handled your rights correctly you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
8. Security
All communications are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are stored hashed. Access to data is restricted by per-user security rules in the database. No system is infallible; if we detect a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by law.
9. Minors
Binnacle is intended for professionals and not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will let you know in the app or by email. The current version will always be available at https://binnacleapp.com/privacy.
